November 8 – Victory Day in the Patriotic War for the liberation of historical lands.

The Patriotic War, which lasted 44 days, ended with the victory of Azerbaijan and the end of almost thirty years of occupation and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the order of the Azerbaijani leader, President Ilham Aliyev, November 8 is solemnly celebrated as Victory Day in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Today, Azerbaijan is ready to normalize relations with Armenia on the basis of strict adherence to the principles of international law, including sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of international borders.

November 9 – Day of the State Flag of Azerbaijan

The appearance of the modern state flag of Azerbaijan was determined more than 100 years ago, on November 9, 1918, at a meeting of the government of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR). After the fall of the ADR and the arrival of Soviet power on April 28, 1920, the tricolor flag was abandoned.

However, after the restoration of independence on February 5, 1991, the Supreme Council of Azerbaijan declared the tricolor with an eight-pointed star and a crescent as the national flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The author of the formula “Turkism, Islamism and modernity”, which is expressed in the three colors of the State flag of independent Azerbaijan and which covered the principle of the three foundations of our national ideology at the beginning of the 20th century, is the outstanding Azerbaijani thinker Ali beg Huseynzade.

The national flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan is rectangular and consists of three horizontal colored bands of equal width: the upper one is blue, the middle one is red, and the lower one is green. On both sides of the flag, in the middle of the red stripe, there is a crescent moon and a white eight-pointed star.

November 12 – Constitution Day of Azerbaijan

The first Constitution of Azerbaijan was adopted on May 19, 1921 at the General Azerbaijan Congress of Soviets.

After Azerbaijan regained its independence, serious work on a new draft of the Constitution began.

In 1994, under the chairmanship of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the Constitutional Commission began its work, in 1995, the draft was submitted for national discussion, and on November 12, 1995, the first Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan was adopted by popular vote.

The new Constitution of Azerbaijan consists of 5 sections, 12 sections and 158 articles.

The basic law of an independent sovereign state laid the foundations of the state system of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and by order of President Heydar Aliyev, November 12 was declared Constitution Day.

November 17 is the Day of National Revival of the Republic of Azerbaijan

The history of this holiday is connected with the national liberation movement that started in Baku in November-December 1988.

In that period, in connection with the anti-Azerbaijani policy of the Soviet leadership around the Karabakh issue, an anti-Soviet popular movement began in Azerbaijan. On November 17, 1988, the Azerbaijani people began holding long rallies on the main square of Baku – Azadlig Square. Millions of people who gathered in the square protested against Moscow’s anti-Azerbaijani policy. In June 1989, the Azerbaijan People’s Front (ANF) was founded. The Kremlin used armed and aggressive deterrence sabotage with heavy equipment and firearms, but was unable to resist the national liberation movement of the Azerbaijani people.

In the 1990 elections, most of the leaders of the ANF received the mandates of deputies of the Verkhovna Rada. On October 18, 1991, the state independence of Azerbaijan was proclaimed. And November 17, 1992 – the Day of National Revival.

The independent and modern Republic of Azerbaijan is a developed democratic country that has achieved a high level of economic stability and stability of the political system, effectively uses its opportunities to realize national interests, as well as strengthen regional and global positions.

Today, Azerbaijan pursues an independent foreign policy based on the principle of equality of state sovereignty. Developing friendly, mutually beneficial bilateral and multilateral relations with all countries, Azerbaijan is interested in maintaining peaceful coexistence and good neighborliness, both in its region and beyond, therefore it builds a foreign policy in accordance with the norms and principles of international law.

So the UFEES team joins in the congratulations. We appreciate the reliable partnership between Ukraine and Azerbaijan and together we are changing the world for the better.
