World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) is celebrated annually on May 17th to bridge the digital divide and raise public awareness about the benefits that information and communication technologies (ICTs) and the Internet can offer to society and the economy. WTISD is initiated by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a specialized agency of the United Nations.

The conference brought together numerous speakers specializing in digital innovations and development. Among the important topics covered were:

  • Projects for sustainable development within the framework of the UN Global Compact Network in Ukraine.
  • Utilizing modern digital technologies in open educational environments.
  • The concept of self-governance and participation of the scientific community.
  • Establishing innovative clusters in regions.

During the plenary session of the conference, Yehor Stefanovich, Chairman of the Board of the PU UFEES, delivered a presentation titled “Energy Efficiency – Driving Force for Renewal and Sustainable Development”. He emphasized the urgent need for the swift implementation of energy efficiency measures to enhance the quality of life and ensure sustainable development. We urge all parties involved in the reconstruction process of our country to join the initiative of widespread implementation of energy-efficient measures,” Yehor Stefanovych stressed at the end of his speech.
