In early June, representatives of the PU “Ukrainian Fund of Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving” visited the communities of the Bolhrad district, Odesa region.

The trip to Bessarabia turned out to be intense and productive. During the two-day visit, we met with representatives of the Borodino, Tarutino, Artsyz, and Teplytsia communities.

The purpose of the visit was to consult with local leaders on the implementation of energy efficiency measures, including participation in the Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings in Ukraine Program.

The CU specialists provided training for community representatives on possible options for renovating public buildings and analyzed the available resources and opportunities in the region for a successful start of thermal modernization.

During the meeting, the head of Tarutino village council, Sava Chernev, noted that thermal modernization of public institutions is very important for Tarutino community, as it will improve the conditions for children in institutions, reduce local budget expenditures for heating and update the external facade of public buildings.

Yegor Stefanovych, Chairman of the Board of the PUFEE, emphasized: “Based on our experience in implementing thermal modernization projects in public buildings in Kremenchuk and Dnipro, I can confidently say that the implementation of energy efficiency measures opens up opportunities for Bessarabia communities to reduce local budget expenditures on heating and maintenance of public institutions by up to 40%. For our part, we have already joined the assistance, and together with the communities of Bessarabia we are taking the first practical steps to develop the region on the basis of energy efficiency and energy saving.”

We remind you that the Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings in Ukraine program is aimed at the thermal modernization of schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and other educational and medical institutions to improve their energy efficiency and reduce energy dependence. The Program is implemented with the support of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Ukraine.
