Digital renewal of Ukraine in action: best practices of E-Governance from Denmark for Makariv community
Makariv Village Council (Kyiv region), with cBrain, a leading company in the implementation of digital solutions in government (Denmark), and the Public Union “Ukrainian Found of Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving” (UFEES), have launched a pilot project to digitalize the community.
The parties signed an agreement in January 2023 according to which cBrain, as part of the pilot project, will provide Makariv with their specialized program which will cover most of the work processes of the village council, free of charge. In particular, it includes electronic document management, processing of citizens’ requests and appeals, provision of electronic services and documents, corporate email, etc.
“We are pleased to thank cBrain for their quick response and willingness to contribute to the digital transformation of Ukraine. After all, the dissemination of modern and convenient IT solutions in government at all levels is important with the reconstruction of infrastructure. The UFEES is the operator of this project, which provides a technical platform for its implementation. We are confident in continuing this initiative in other communities. After all, as the initiator of Ukraine`s Renovation League ONOVA, the Public Union connects cities and towns with companies that are ready to implement their requests for the restoration of houses, schools, purchase of equipment, and introduction of modern technologies. This is a quick and transparent update, combined with the ONOVA GIS HUB geographic information system, as part of the digitalization policy being implemented in Ukraine,” said Yehor Stefanovych, Chairman of the Board of the Public Union.
According to Anatoliy Karbovsky, deputy head of the Makariv village council, the community has long been in need of an IT solution that will make communication and interaction with the public fast, high-quality, and bring it to a fundamentally new level.

Denmark is the country with the most advanced digital solutions implemented in government at various levels. Therefore, it is especially valuable to gain knowledge and understanding of technology from a company that is directly involved in this and implement it in your community.”
