Preparations are underway for its cooling and transfer to a cold state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the Russian aggression, the electricity industry of Ukraine suffered significant damage. As of mid-August 2022, Russian aggression disabled more than 50% of Ukraine&#8217;s thermal power, 30% of solar, and 90% of wind generation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of the renewable energy facilities were built in the southern regions, which are currently suffering from hostilities. These are the Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhya, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most RES facilities in the occupied territories have practically stopped their activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #333399;\">Why exactly has the energy system become a permanent object of Russian terrorism?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to the attempt to create chaos, there is another reason for persistent attempts to destroy Ukraine&#8217;s energy system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, explained the goals of the attack on the Zaporizhzhya NPP: &#8220;The first is to &#8220;knock out&#8221; the ZNPP from the energy system of Ukraine. The second goal concerns the closure of the export of energy carriers to the EU.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exporting energy carriers from Ukraine is one of Europe&#8217;s defense tools against Russian energy blackmail.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Russia&#8217;s attack led to an unprecedented global energy crisis and intensified the process of joining the Ukrainian energy system to the European network of electricity transmission system operators (ENTSO-E).<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Already on March 16, 3 weeks after the attack, the Ukrainian energy system started working in synchronous mode with the European ENTSO-E.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On March 30, after emergency synchronization with ENTSO-E, the first export route to Poland was opened.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In early June, ENTSO-E agreed to expand electricity exports from Ukraine to Europe.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the period March-August 2022, Ukraine exported 1,335,717 MWh of electric energy, in four directions &#8211; Poland, Moldova, Romania, and Slovakia, according to the &#8220;Operative Monitoring of the Electric Energy Market&#8221;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to NEC &#8220;Ukrenergo&#8221;, the organization received about 1.92 billion hryvnias from the sale of an interstate crossing for the export of electricity to Romania and Slovakia from June 30 to August 21.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In September, the European Network of Electricity Transmission System Operators ENTSO-E increased the available transmission capacity for the export of electricity from Ukraine to the EU to 300 MW.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-912 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ufees.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/09\/D_en2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1690\" height=\"858\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ufees.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/09\/D_en2.png 1500w, https:\/\/ufees.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/09\/D_en2-300x152.png 300w, https:\/\/ufees.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/09\/D_en2-1024x520.png 1024w, https:\/\/ufees.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/09\/D_en2-768x390.png 768w, https:\/\/ufees.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/09\/D_en2-1536x780.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1690px) 100vw, 1690px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As you can see, even against the background of significant losses and destruction, the energy sector continues to be a powerful source of exports for the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-908 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ufees.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/09\/Snimok-ekrana-2022-09-15-v-15.20.40.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1470\" height=\"830\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ufees.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/09\/Snimok-ekrana-2022-09-15-v-15.20.40.png 1470w, https:\/\/ufees.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/09\/Snimok-ekrana-2022-09-15-v-15.20.40-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/ufees.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/09\/Snimok-ekrana-2022-09-15-v-15.20.40-1024x578.png 1024w, https:\/\/ufees.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/09\/Snimok-ekrana-2022-09-15-v-15.20.40-768x434.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1470px) 100vw, 1470px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The leadership of the Public Union, in the capacity of experts in the field of energy efficiency, discussed the energy crisis and the ways out of it.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8220;The public union is concentrating its efforts on fixing the destruction and further updating the state&#8217;s critical infrastructure.
